Another Strategic Move! WG Energy SST PV-Storage-Charging DC Microgrid Project Officially Put into Operation at Beijing Guodian Ruifeng Industrial Park Powering the "Energy Heart" of Zero-Carbon Parks

Preamble

 

Recently, another Solid-State Transformer (SST)-based DC microgrid project has been successfully commissioned at the Beijing Guodian Ruifeng Industrial Park. WG Energy’s SST solutions continue to gain wide adoption, and this project represents a complete park-level PV-storage-charging DC microgrid. It marks not only another large-scale application of SST in industrial and commercial parks, but also WG Energy’s latest achievement in advancing zero-carbon park development.

The Energy Router in the Park:

Pioneering Zero-Carbon Park Construction

 

 

Located in Beijing Guodian Ruifeng Industrial Park, the project is centered on a 1.25 MW WG Energy SST unit. It directly connects to the 10 kV power grid and outputs a 750 V DC bus, integrating photovoltaic (PV) power, energy storage, and EV charging equipment onto a single DC bus. Power generated by PV systems directly supplies EV loads, with surplus energy stored in batteries. During off-peak nighttime hours, batteries are charged at lower electricity prices, and discharge during peak daytime periods. Acting as a unified energy router, the SST optimizes energy dispatch to maximize the value of every kilowatt-hour of electricity.

 

This architecture directly upgrades the park’s energy structure:

 

· Significantly improved self-consumption of green power: PV power generation eliminates multi-stage AC-DC conversion losses, greatly increasing the self-consumption rate.

 

· Noticeably reduced electricity costs: The energy storage system performs peak-shaving and valley-filling to lower overall park energy expenses.

 

· Reduced grid dependency: The park can achieve near self-sufficiency during daylight hours, alleviating grid supply pressure.

 

These improvements drive the park to become a green, low-carbon, and highly efficient energy microgrid, steadily moving toward near-zero-carbon operation.

 From "Single Demonstration" to "Scenario Replication"

 

This project validates a clear development path: SST is not merely an energy-saving device, but the “brain + heart” of low-carbon parks, supporting rapid replication across industrial and commercial scenarios.

 

Traditionally, PV, energy storage, and charging systems operated independently, resulting in complex wiring, redundant equipment, and low efficiency. By integrating PV-storage-charging systems into a full DC topology, SST eliminates multi-stage conversion, improving system efficiency by 3–5 percentage points, greatly reducing footprint, and shortening deployment time from six months to just a few days. With sufficient solar irradiance, the park can operate temporarily “islanded” from the utility grid, supported by PV and storage. This self-balancing, self-regulating, and self-optimizing capability is critical for building resilient, low-carbon park energy infrastructure.

 

Notably, this model requires no complex customization. WG Energy’s SST adopts a modular design, fully prefabricated and pre-assembled in the factory. On-site deployment only requires connection of power lines and system commissioning, offering park operators a straightforward upgrade to higher-efficiency energy infrastructure.

Expanding Footprint:

Large-Scale SST Deployment from South to North

 

 

 

The commissioning of this project epitomizes the large-scale rollout of WG Energy’s SST solutions:

 

· Jiangsu: Four charging stations in Kunshan, covering power supply stations and gas stations, operating continuously for over 900 days without failure.

 

· Shandong: Yitang Power Supply Station in Linyi, Shandong’s first SST direct-connect PV-storage-charging project, delivered in just two days.

 

· Guangdong: Baiyun Electric Technology Building in Guangzhou, the SST-centered demonstration project for a new-type PV-storage-DC-flexible-charging distribution network.

 

· Beijing: Guodian Ruifeng Park SST PV-storage-charging DC microgrid, now officially in operation.

By the end of 2025, WG Energy had delivered over 100 SST units across charging, energy storage, data centers, microgrids, and distribution networks. The 2026 delivery target is set at 1,000 units.
