First of Its Kind in Northwest China! WG Energy Successfully Delivers Solid-State Transformer (SST) and Integrated Energy Storage Equipment to Tacheng, Xinjiang

Preamble


On November 10th, the Tacheng Key Development and Opening-up Pilot Zone in Xinjiang ushered in an important milestone in the application of new energy technologies — WG Energy successfully held the delivery ceremony of the first batch of Solid-State Transformers (SST) and supporting energy storage equipment in Northwest China. The high-voltage direct-hanging energy storage solution with SST as the core delivered this time has become the first set of technological breakthrough achievements in the five northwest provinces, filling the regional technological gap at one stroke. It marks the large-scale application of WG Energy's core power electronic equipment in Northwest China and provides key technical support for the large-scale development of new energy in Xinjiang.

Leaders in charge of the Tacheng region, the management committee of the pilot zone and senior management of WG Energy attended the delivery ceremony. In his speech, the regional leader stated that the delivery and implementation of the power electronic equipment with Solid-State Transformer (SST) as the core by WG Energy will play an important role in Tacheng's construction of a new power system and promotion of the high-end development of energy equipment.

Technological Breakthrough

First Set of HV Direct-Connected Energy Storage Solution in Northwest China Put into Practice

 

The project will be applied to the boiler photovoltaic-storage integration project in Tacheng, Xinjiang, equipped with 4 sets of WG Energy SST and 26 sets of 385kWh Matrix DC Energy Storage Cabinets.

Centered on WG Energy’s SST, the solution achieves efficient power conversion and intelligent control, solving the technical bottlenecks of traditional energy storage systems in high-voltage access scenarios.

 

The core highlight of this delivery is the breakthrough application of the HV Direct-Connected Energy Storage Solution. Through coordinated control of WG Energy’s SST and Energy Storage Systems (ESS), the project delivers clear economic value and security functions:

 

l Peak-valley Arbitrage & Electricity Cost Saving: The core advantage lies in the "charge during off-peak, discharge during peak" operation mode. By charging at low electricity prices and discharging at high prices, the project achieves significant peak-valley arbitrage, effectively reducing the operating costs of the heating system in Tacheng.

 

l Backup Power Supply & Heating Security: As a reliable backup power source, the ESS can switch to off-grid operation in case of power grid failure, ensuring continuous and stable power supply and effectively safeguarding regional heating security in Tacheng under extreme weather conditions.

 

l PV-Storage Coordination & Green Energy Consumption: Through photovoltaic-storage coordination, the project effectively improves the self-consumption rate of photovoltaic power generation, laying a foundation for Tacheng to build a high-proportion renewable energy system in the future.

 

Conclusion

 

With the successful delivery of this project, WG Energy has set a new benchmark in the field of integrated energy applications in Northwest China. As the first set of technological achievements in Northwest China, it not only demonstrates WG Energy’s R&D strength in the field of power electronic equipment centered on SST, but also provides a brand-new solution for technology selection of new energy projects in Northwest China.
